A Ft. Worth Cop Breaks The Nose Of a Deaf Man

"Can You Hear Me!" A Ft. Worth police officer breaks the nose of a deaf man. . . .

Current mood:amorous

Yet another outrage by our local boys and blue. . . . .are you surprised?

And that big ol' blue wall of silence won't even break on the assholes in the uniforms. . . . .AGAIN!

But they are punishing this fellow, for sure, they sent him home without pay for TWO DAYS! I'll bet that changes his ways on the streets!

Sure, the deaf man with a broken nose will get $50,000 compensation-and shit, I'd let the guy break my nose for $50K.

Do you think it's likely the deaf man will ever be without fear for his life whenever a local asshole cop tries to interrogate him for going to the store? I doubt it.

Sgt. Head Casey is a cool enough fellow, he's told me that he would 1. "turn me into a sweater,"-hey, that's creative, but he was a Marine then, and not a cop. . . .and more recently, 2. he'd just plain old kick my ass. I was never a marine, so that could get ugly. . . .but I've digressed, mostly HeadCase is good fun. . .

But GAWD! These cops here in the metroplex are taking a pr beating these days-almost equal to the innocent beatings they apply with near impunity on the streets every day.

but fuck it-I like it here, my face isn't on the staff bulletin board as it is in my hometown, and unless a local yokel reads my myspace blogs-they don't even know my entirely unique name.

I'm working on getting the video for this-feel free to help me out! :)

Traffic stop turns violent for deaf man (Fort Worth Police, WFAA-TV)

Fort Worth police Sgt. Pedro Criado said settlement Wednesday did not include any admission of wrongdoing on the city's part. The city also released the police dash camera video of the traffic stop.

On Nov. 30, Christopher Ferrell, 43, was pulled over for speeding, police said. Criado said Thursday he did not know where the traffic stop occurred.

Ferrell’s attorney said his client reached for his identification to inform the officer he was deaf.

"He was trying to show his identification to the officer so that the officer would know that he was simply unable to communicate with him on a normal basis," said attorney Paul Goetz.

But the dash camera video shows Officer J.A. Miller grabbing Ferrell, swinging him around and slamming his head into the rear windshield.

"It did break his nose," Goetz said of the incident. "There was a lot of blood."

Miller said he thought Ferrell was reaching for a gun.

Miller was suspended for two days without pay after the incident. He still is with the department.

"This isolated incident doesn't reflect the professional quality service that the Fort Worth Police Department provides to the citizens of Fort Worth," Criado said.

Criado said officers now have access to language interpreters who can get to a scene within 30 minutes of a traffic stop.
